Mick was the son of Cheryl Jagger-Williams’ Belle and Imported Fleet. He was just one of many bright, sweet, driven, and highly biddable puppies who all grew up to be dream dogs for us all.
When Mick was about eight weeks old, the Sign of the Cross appeared on his forehead. My mother used to tell me I should try selling him on E-Bay.
Perhaps the cross was a blessing. When he was still a puppy Mick was stricken with a mysterious, chronic, and near-fatal illness of unknown cause.
At the time, the disease killed 99% of the puppies born with it.
By some miracle, which I attribute to his ability to connect with people through dog tricks, he survived long enough for a diagnosis and treatment. He thrived to old age.
His vets dubbed him “Miracle Mick.”
He was a consummate ham, eager to show off for the camera, and the camera loved him. From the time he was barely three months old he performed tricks for crowds of all sizes.
He adored everyone, people and dogs of every kind. He was the most biddable dog I’ve ever worked with. Mick was eager to please the whole world. He is missed by many.
