I’m a believer in the power of a good dog trick.

I’m an All-Star Trainer-of-the-Year, Certified Trick Dog Instructor, an AKC Canine Good Citizen EvaluatorOfficial Stunt Dog Judge, and past president of the Upper Suncoast Dog Training Club. I got my start when Mick was a puppy and my sister sent me Kyra Sundance’s book Fifty-One Puppy Tricks. Mick and I enjoyed it so much, I got to be among the first fleet of certified instructors.

Trick-dog training is a whimsical outside-the-box activity for both you and your dog that helps you train more playfully. Whether your aim for Obedience, Agility, Service Work, or any other goal, tricks broaden your foundations and solidify your working bond. Plus, you can practice tricks almost anywhere, any time, and everyone loves a good dog trick!

Why tricks?

Tricks give confidence to shy dogs, add charm to service and therapy dogs, and make scary-looking dogs disarming.

Tricks are one dog sport everyone instantly understands, so you can also wow friends, family, and entire crowds. Tricks training improves your bond and confidence. Playful positive reinforcement is the best medicine for any dog/human relationship–and it works on your kids and your significant others too. That’s why every trick is magic!

Tricks training gives dogs safe and happy ways to interact. Mick did not trust children, but look at him now!
